This week went better. All of the drama was finally wearing down, and the team was getting a little better after struggling the last meet at Wittenburg. I am glad that all of the issues happened early, so now we can focus on getting better and preparing for the conference and national meets. This weeks work outs consisted of building the base and stamina of the runners. We aren't really getting into speed since we want the to peak at conference and nationals and the national meet is at Grand Valley in late May. The team traveled down south to another SEC meet which consisted of talented athletes in the nation. On the women's side, we had huge personal records fro Theresa Scott and Brittany Darby. How ironic they both ran the same time in two different heats. Senior sprinter Taylor Deskins helped improve the women's 400 meter dash by running a 58. That event was struggling the last few weeks with no one breaking 1 minute. Chyna Davis kept an impressive streak going with a huge personal record in the 100 meter hurdles. She provisional for nationals. The women's 4x1 relay provisional for nationals in school record fashion doing so. The men's side had some impressive performance including Omar Lane with two personal bests. He is coming along very well after the earlier injuries and will be ready to compete later in the season.
