I had a very busy weekend. After coming back from the GLIAC championship meet early, I had to come back and work the AAU meet for Decarlo Blackwell. It was a great experience and connection being that I had the opportunity to network with the coaches that were there. Also, I helped observe coach Tate's Daughter Derra run. There were about 300 people in attendance and it was right after the tennis team defeated North wood and stopped there wonderful win streak that they held for many years. I was in charge of gathering all of the equipment, placing hurdles in the correct spots, and ensuring that everyone was courteous of the building. It was great to watch because there were some many young athletes from ages 5-16 who were competing trying to improve their times and win medals. Derra actually won first place in two events and is faster than every girl on our team except 2 in the events she compete in.
